Here’s the latest from Mark Nelson, the host of the Platte Valley Annual Spring Tech Day.
~~~~~~~~~~
Hello fellow heads and headettes,
This is a reminder of the upcoming May 1st Platte Valley Spring Tech day. I’ve put in an order for great weather. Please do the same.
If you’ve gotten these emails in the past, everything on tap is the same as before. We will provide meals on Saturday. We will also provide breakfast on Sunday AM. On Friday night we’ll order pizza and have everyone chip in for that. I just ask that you let me know when you plan to arrive and if I need to plan on you for food on Saturday.
We already have some projects lined up. So far, we have a head bearing project and two fork rebuilds. Scott Hubbard will be rebuilding a motor (an empty block) from the ground up. He’s hoping to have it completed on the engine stand to the point of starting it. We may also possibly have a drive shaft rebuild in the works as well as a main seal and oil pump project. We’ll know more about those later. If YOU have a project you would like to work on , I need to know about it as soon as you can, so I can make sure to have any special tools available and to also make sure we have the space and time to complete the project. Most likely it will all work out.
As in the past, please let me know if you plan to attend. I’d like to have some sort of idea on a count. If you’re just stopping in to say hello and don’t plan to be here to eat, no need to reply. Just stop in, we’d like to see ya.
Alcohol consumption is okay (BYOB) as long as you conduct yourself in a respectful manner. Sorry, but other stimulants are a NO NO.
I think this will be our 14th tech day. Each time it has grown and I’m glad about that. At our last tech day this past November we had in excess of 40 attendees.
Please fell free to pitch a tent and spend the weekend. We have acres of space and all are welcome. The weekend is really a great weekend. At time to catch up with old friends whom we don’t get to see very often and a time to make new ones.
If you are planning to attend the MOA rally in Great Falls, MT there will be some discussion on that event happening that weekend. My place will be a stopping/gathering point for those heading that way.
My address is:
13380 State Highway N
Platte City, MO 64079
If you use a GPS please make sure you enter the address exactly as I have typed it.
In closing, we are looking forward to seeing all of you.
